Home sweet home!

I made it home! It's SO good to be here! After 25 days away, I was very ready to be home and back with my love again!

It was a loooong 30 hour journey (and I was up for almost 34 hours) but all went pretty smoothly. My flight from Sydney to LA was 12 1/2 hours. I had a really sweet seatmate from Australia named Tash. She was coming over with a friend to visit New York and the east coast for a couple of weeks. I watched two movies (Country Strong and Tangled) and about 4 or 5 documentaries. I slept for maybe an hour on the flight as it was daytime to my body the whole time. I left Sydney at 10:30am on Sat and arrived at LAX at 6:30am on Sat, weird! I had 4 hours in LA so my dear friend Jeanette came and picked me up for a bit. We went to Panera Bread and had a wonderful time catching up (and it was GREAT to be outside of an airport or plane for a little while!).

I slept the entire 2 1/2 hour trip up to Seattle. The plane was a little late and landed at 1:20pm and my flight to Fairbanks was scheduled to depart at 1:40pm! Thankfully, the Fairbanks flight was 10 minutes late so I hurried off the plane, found an Alaska Airlines gate agent and asked her to call ahead to my gate and let them know I was coming. I sprinted out of Gate C18 over to the escalator to take the train to the N gates. I sprinted up the escalator to N8 and made it, barely! Phew! I was bound and determined to make that flight as I did NOT want to have an extra few hours in Seattle!

My love was waiting at the airport and had pretty flowers for me. We decided to leave my bags until the morning and went to Quiznos for some food (as there was nothing in the house!). I was SO relieved and happy to be home! My love had cleaned the living room and bedroom really well and had a candle burning and music playing when we got home! I ate some food then fell fast asleep around 6:30pm. I woke up at midnight hungry so ate the rest of my food then went back to bed. I woke up at 2am and was up for an hour then slept again from 3-9am. I felt fairly rested and was really excited to go to church and see all my friends there.

I went grocery shopping at Sams and Fred Meyers yesterday and happily restocked our pantry and fridge. I have some yummy meals planned for this week and am excited to do some cooking! My love planned out a nice surprise date for me this week and let me "choose my own adventure" by playing a fun game show like game with me! He's so great! We will be heading to my favorite (fancy!) restaurant in Fairbanks this week (Lavelle's) for some yummy food.

Home again, home again, jiggity jig! I've never been so happy to be here!
