Climb up into His lap and rest!

Normally, I use this blog to share pictures and events of things happening in mine and my love's life up here in Alaska (or wherever the journey may take me/us). I don't really intentionally avoid delving into heart issues or share how I'm feeling about something, but it IS easier (and more fun?!) to just report the facts!

Well, I think it's time introduce this blog (and possibly you!) into uncharted territory and share a little of what's been on my heart lately....

A very dear mentor-type friend of mine in Oregon called me yesterday to catch up. She hadn't heard about the pregnancy complications from the last 2-3 weeks, so I launched into the details and told her all that happened. Being the wise, perceptive, Godly woman she is, she asked something to the effect of  "so, how's your heart in all of this?!" The question kind of caught me off guard or by surprise. What do you mean "how's my heart? It's fine, I'm fine, we're all going to be fine!" I then realized that I've pretty much defaulted to "let's get through this and hope everything will be OK" mode instead of really allowing myself to process everything with Jesus. She quickly encouraged me to climb up into Jesus' lap and allow myself to REST and just BE there. Oh my! Did I need to hear that or what? She said "don't talk, don't analyze, don't process, just climb up into big Daddy God's lap, pull His big feathered wing over you and snuggle in". What wise advice!

She prayed over me and Bobo and my love and we hung up. I didn't waste anytime and did exactly as she suggested....I crawled up onto Jesus' lap and let Him "take great delight in me and rejoice over me with singing". What peace I received!

Zephaniah 3:17

The LORD your God is with you,
   the Mighty Warrior who saves.
He will take great delight in you;
   in his love he will no longer rebuke you,
   but will rejoice over you with singing.”

Thank you dear lovely friend for your sage advice. God definitely used you to speak to me and I appreciate you so much!

What about you? Have you been running non-stop lately and going on "auto-pilot"? It's so easy to do with the cares and hurried pace of this temporal world. Let me encourage you, climb up into Daddy God's lap and let Him delight in you! He loves us! Oh how he loves us!

If you haven't heard this song (first introduced by the David Crowder Band), here's a great version of it by Kim Walker from "Jesus Culture". Enjoy!

P.S. I'm pretty proud of myself, I figured out how to imbed a YouTube video in this post (and at 3am no less)! Yay!
