My best friend Gloria works for Delta in Minneapolis so she can fly for free/cheap and decided to come out for my Alaska baby shower. She had a bit of a hard time getting on a flight to Anchorage due to a hockey team getting re-routed, but eventually made it here around midnight on Thursday night. We had a great day on Friday, going around town and showing her a bit of Fairbanks.

We have 2 other college friends that live near Anchorage, Mindy and Elizabeth, who planned to join us for the baby shower weekend. They started driving up (normally a 6 hour drive) around 9:30am on Friday and were planning on being here in the late afternoon. We got a call from them around 1pm saying they were stuck about halfway in white out conditions with a semi blocking the road. I told them to be safe and do whatever they thought was best. I figured they'd turn around and go back home. We got a call about 2 hours later, they waited it out and were on their way! Both the semi and weather conditions cleared out and they had a safe drive up. We were all so happy when they pulled into my driveway around 7pm. We ate a nice dinner together then went out to our new house so they could see the progress.

Mindy brought her 6 year old, Acacia, with her - isn't she darling?!

All the girls are moms and don't get a full night sleep, so they were all quite excited to be able to have (mostly) uninterrupted sleep and be able to sleep later than usual in the morning. We headed over to my sister-in-law's Robin's house for the shower and had a great time! Over 30 women came and blessed us, it was a lot of fun! Bobo is seriously going to be the best dressed, warmest baby with all the clothes he got from the Washington and Alaska showers! I'm excited to move in to our new place (in the next week or so) and get everything organized. My mom is flying up a week from Wed to help me get settled with everything.
Just a fraction of our loot and lots of the ladies that came to celebrate Bobo and I

All in all, it was a great weekend and I am a very blessed mama to be!
